PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forced air supply and exhaust type hot air heater that allows an apparatus body to be installed closely to a wall by eliminating the connection piping of an air supply and exhaust cylinder formed between the wall and the apparatus body, and the projection section of a hot air fan and a fan guard. SOLUTION: The supply of exhaust after combustion and air for combustion is made from the outdoor via the air supply and exhaust cylinder 1 in double pipe structure. A terminal section 10 where an exhaust pipe 16 and an air supply pipe 17 at the side of the apparatus body 13 of the air supply and exhaust cylinder 1 are connected is positioned closer to one side in a frame body 14 of the apparatus body 13. At the same time, a burner section 29 and a heat exchanger 18 are positioned at the other side in the frame body 14 of the apparatus body 13.
