The client (10) uses a remote computer to select video clips from a web page (13) displayed on the screen of his computer. The short clips may be news headlines, highlights from a sporting event, e.g. goals, tries, weather forecasts, etc. The captured image (15) is encoded and compressed by a server (18) before being transmitted via a network (16,17) to the client's computer (12), where it is decompressed before display.
