PURPOSE: A control method of an air conditioner for preventing supercooling of an evaporator is provided to restrict supercooling of the evaporator, and to improve the performance of the air conditioner by correcting the limit temperature of the evaporator according to air flow and controlling the compressor corresponding to air flow. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner is initialized in starting(S10,S20), and signals by detecting voltage applied to a blower with a blower voltage detecting sensor are transmitted to a control unit(S30). A cooling switch is detected to be turned on or off, and heating is performed in turning off the cooling switch(S40,S100). The control unit detects the air flow according to the signals from the blower voltage detecting sensor(S50,S51), and sets the new limit temperature by correcting the limit temperature of the evaporator for controlling the compressor according to the air flow(S61,S62,S63,S70). Present temperature of the evaporator is detected and compared with the corrected limit temperature of the evaporator(S80,S90), and cooling is controlled in case of the present temperature of the evaporator to be less than the limit temperature(S101). The compressor is stopped by shutting off power to the electronic clutch of the compressor in case of the present temperature to be over the limit temperature(S102).
