PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aqueous dispersion of an ethylene/glycidyl acrylate-based copolymer capable of giving a coating film excellent in bonding property, easily at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the aqueous dispersion of ethylene/glycidyl acrylate-based copolymer comprises heating a mixture of (A) 100 pts.wt. ethylene/glycidyl acrylate-based copolymer, (B) 5-15 pts.wt. surfactant consisting of a mixture of (b1) an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer and (b2) a polyoxyalkylene type nonionic surfactant, (C) 0.01-1 pt.wt. basic substance and (D) 50-500 pts.wt. water at or higher than the melting point of the ethylene/glycidyl ether-based copolymer, melting, emulsifying by agitation, and then cooling at or lower than the softening point of the ethylene/glycidyl ether-based copolymer.
