<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device having good light-emitting efficiency and emitting a warm color-based reddish white light; and to provide a fluorescent substance usable in combination with a blue light-emitting element or the like and having an emission spectrum in a yellow to red region. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting device has the light-emitting element 10 emitting the blue light, and the nitride fluorescent substance converting the wavelength of a part of the first emission spectrum excited by the light-emitting element 10, having the second emission spectrum in the yellow to red region, obtained by adding one or more kinds of elements such as Na, K, Rb, Mg, B, Al, Ga, Ti and Zr, and represented by the general formula: L<SB>X</SB>M<SB>Y</SB>N<SB>((2/3)X+(4/3)Y)</SB>:Eu or L<SB>X</SB>M<SB>Y</SB>N<SB>((2/3)X+(4/3)Y-(2/3))</SB>:Eu (wherein, L is Ca or Sr; M contains Si as an essential component; and N is nitrogen). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
