<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a video telephone service with an easy-to-use operation procedure with respect to a multi-point video telephone system utilizing a non-balanced network, and a connection control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: If the user of a video telephone dedicated terminal (STB) selects a plurality of communication parties on a menu screen, the video telephone dedicated terminal (STB) transmits its "connection request" to a management server in a center station. The management server reads necessary information from a subscriber (user) information data base in order to check the operation state of each of video telephone dedicated terminals (STB) of the communication party of the "connection request" and to acquire network information, and creates a "connection request telegram" for each of video telephone dedicated terminals (STB) of the communication party, and simultaneously transmits them to their IP addresses. Also, the management server notifies each of the video telephone dedicated terminals (STB) of a connection channel of a multi-point conference control server (MCU), and each of the video telephone dedicated terminals (STB) performs multi-party communication via the multi-point conference control server (MCU). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
