INSULATED WIRE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of hardness in the peeling work of a crosslinked-polyethylene insulated wire due to strengthening the adhesive force between a conductor and an insulating layer with the lapse of time after manufacturing the insulated wire. CONSTITUTION:This insulated wire has a polyethylene group insulating layer 2 cross-linked by the irradiation of electron beam or the like on a conductor 1, and the periphery of this insulated wire is provided with an oxygen shielding layer 3. A cause of strengthening of the adhesive force between the conductor 1 and the insulating layer 2 is related with the generation of polar group in the insulating layer 2. Since this polar group is generated by the reaction with oxygen, oxygen is cut to restrict the strengthening of the adhesive force between the conductor and the insulating layer.
