<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed, such that a unit that needs removal of malfunctions can be checked from distance without access to the main device of an operation panel, and that allows a door to be opened to efficiently and fully provide information needed during operator's operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the image-forming apparatus, a surface panel 12 and a rear panel 15 are disposed on the front and back of the door 11 of each of a plurality of units 10b to 10f having their respective armors. The display contents of the plurality of surface panels 12 are made different according to the state of each unit. For instance, the surface panel of a malfunctioning unit and that of a unit in a normal state are made different in display content (as by inverted display or different display color). This facilitates checking of the place of a malfunctioning unit, from a distance. When the door 11 of the malfunctioning unit is opened, a guide image for restoration is displayed on the back panel, and the display content is switched, based on the operation of operating buttons by an operator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
