The water supply system contains a mixer (8b) for hot and cold water which is fitted with a thermostatically controlled bypass valve (13). This recirculates mixed water if it has not reached a preset temperature while allowing it to pass to e.g. a shower head (9) if it is at or above this temperature. An independent claim is included for a mixer as described.
