PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable thickening device easily usable at those places other than analytical experimental and research laboratories by forming it in a compact structure in which cooling water is not used so that it can be transported readily and is operable at a reduced running cost. SOLUTION: This portable thickener comprises a mantle heater 2 for heating in a manner of wrapping a specimen container 1 containing a specimen as to surround it and a vacuum pump 3 for removing the solvent in the specimen by depressurizing the inside of the specimen container 1. A radiator 4 for cooling the solvent in the heated specimen by a fan 5 is installed on the downstream side of the mantle heater 2, and a mist catcher 6 for removing the mist in the specimen is installed on the downstream side of the radiator 4.
