PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fixing device, capable of surely interrupting current-carrying to a heat source and of preventing abnormal rise in the surface temperature of a fixing roller. SOLUTION: The image fixing device comprises a fixing member; a pressure member; a melting holding member which holds the fixing member and melts at a predetermined temperature or higher; a heating member disposed within the fixing member to heat the fixing member by current-carrying; an electrode plate which supports the heating member, by separably contacting with a contact at an end of the heating member and is connected to a power source to carry current to the heating member; a support part formed of a hot-melt material, to which the electrode plate is fitted so as to hold the electrode plate in a fixed position; a pressing force giving means which imparts a pressing force to the pressure member so as to press the pressure member to the fixing member; a separation contact member provided on the fixing member which contacts with the heating member so as to separate the contact from the electrode plate, when the melting holding member is melted, and the fixing member is displaced by the pressing force via the pressure member; and a melting-blocking member which blocks heat conduction from the electrode plate fitted to the support part to the support part.
