PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary tool for closing used to easily attach a cover plate or the like to, for example, the opening of a drain pipe from the outside. SOLUTION: This auxiliary tool 1 for closing comprises a tabular part 2 brought into contact with the rear surface of each of the opposed edge parts 6a of an opening 6 and a bolt 3 projecting from the front surface 2a of the tabular part 2 at right angle. An adhesive packing 12A is so attached as to be interposed between the front surface of the tabular part 2 put in the opening 6 and the inner surface around the opening 6. The opening is covered by inserting a cover plate 13 having an insertion hole 13c onto the bolt 3 of the auxiliary tool 1, and a nut 16 is tightened.
