PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in a cooling loss due to a tumble flow.SOLUTION: A combustion chamber structure of an engine 1 is equipped with a cylinder head 13, a piston 16, and a fuel injection valve 6. At end portions on the opposite side to trough portions 133 of an intake side inclined surface 131 and an exhaust side inclined surface 132 of the cylinder head 13, an intake side lower surface and an exhaust side lower surface are provided. At end portions on the opposite side to ridge portions of an intake side inclined surface 161 and an exhaust side inclined surface 162 of the piston 16, the intake side lower surface and the exhaust side lower surface are provided. An angle between an exhaust side inclined surface area and an exhaust side lower area in an exhaust side squish area 174, is smaller than an angle between the intake side inclined surface area and the intake side lower area in an intake side squish ara 173.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
