PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out failure determination in a series mode while suppressing a reduction in the charge rate of a drive battery of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A failure determination device is provided in a hybrid vehicle which comprises an engine 2 provided with an EGR passage 42 and an EGR valve 43, a motor-generator connected to the engine 2, and a drive motor driving drive wheels of the vehicle, which can select a series mode, and which enables motoring for driving the engine 2 by the motor-generator, the failure determination device gives priority to first failure determination means determining whether a failure occurs to the EGR valve 43 on the basis of a change in a detection value of an intake pressure sensor 44 when the EGR valve 43 is controlled to open/close the EGR passage in the series mode when execution of both the first failure determination means and second failure determination means are requested, the second failure determination means determining whether a failure occurs to sensors 34, 35 of an exhaust system on the basis of detection values of the sensors of the exhaust system by executing motoring in the series mode to stop and restart the supply of fuel to the engine 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
