This scanning endoscope device comprises: a scanning endoscope that includes a light guide unit which guides an illumination light for illuminating a subject and outputs the same from an output end, and an actuator which oscillates the output end of the light guide unit in response to the voltage of a signal applied to the actuator in order to sweep the illumination light over the subject; a storage unit that pre-stores information on resonance frequencies for oscillating the output end of the light guide unit in a resonance state as information on the frequencies of the signals applied to the actuator; an applying unit that successively applies the multiple signals having different frequencies to the actuator; a signal monitoring unit that monitors the multiple signals successively applied to the actuator; and a determination unit that compares information on the frequency of the signal with the least impedance when the actuator is the load among the multiple signals monitored by the signal monitoring unit with the information on the resonance frequencies stored in the storage unit to determine whether the scanning endoscope is in an abnormal state or not. |
