PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suppressing a reduction in the accuracy of detecting the distance to a target.SOLUTION: A distance measuring device (1), mounted in a vehicle, measures the distance to a target present in a predetermined search range including the traveling direction and the lateral of the vehicle. A light-emitting element (11) emits light, and a light-receiving element (21) detects a reflected light of the light emitted by the light-emitting element and reflected by a target present in the search range. A distance detection unit (60) detects the distance to the target on the basis of the output of the light-receiving element. Output adjustment units (12, 22, 50, 80) adjust the output of the light-receiving element for a reflected light from a traveling direction range and/or a lateral range so that both of a reflected light from a predetermined traveling direction range including the traveling direction and a reflected light from a predetermined lateral range including the lateral can be detected by the distance detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
