PURPOSE:To apply the melody analyzing device to a melody including modulation and detect the modulation included in the melody by providing a melody dividing means which divides the melody into passages and a key-by-passage deciding means which decides keys by the divided passages. CONSTITUTION:The melody division part 4 divides the given melody 2 into plural divisional melodies (passage) like passages 1-(n) shown by a reference number 6. The tonality analytic part 8 decides the keys by the passages. A matching part 24 retrieves the melody pattern of a rhythm style 10 specified from MPRB 22, matches it with classified data, and then gives a label for pattern matching to notes of the passages which accord with the rule of the melody pattern. An adequacy evaluation part 26 receives the result of the matching part 24 and calculates the rate of the notes, given the label for pattern matching, among notes of the passages to evaluate the adequacy of chord progression. Consequently, the modulation included in the melody can be detected. |
