PURPOSE:To provide the melody analyzing device which can analyzes the style of a melody and the chord assigning device which utilizes the style analytic result. CONSTITUTION:The given melody 2 is divided by melody division into plural passages. A matching part 8 inspects the respective parts of the melody as to a specified composer's style 4 by using a phrase data base 10 classified by composer's styles. A melody part matching the phrase of the specific composer's style 4 in the data base 10 is labeled as a style matching passage. A chord progression assigned to the labeled passage is retrieved in a chord progression data base 20 for the style. |
