Fremgangsmåte ved reaktivering av nikkelaluminiumoksydkatalysatorer

In a process for prodn. of hydrogen and carbon monoxide by reacting a low mol.wt. hydrocarbon in a net reducing atmos. in presence of steam and oxygen at elevated temp. by contact with a fluidised bed of nickel-on-alumina catlayst (I), novel steps comprise (a) withdrawing a portion of (I) and contacting it with an oxygen-contg. gas at a temp. high enough to convert the nickel component of (I) to nickel aluminate and disperse the latter within the alumina support, without sintering the alumina; and (b) recycling the treated catalyst to the reaction zone, to reduce the nickel aluminate component of the catalysts and increase its activity.
