SPECIAL REPRODUCTION CONTROL PROCESSING METHOD FOR DIGITAL MOVING PICTURE FILE

PURPOSE:To transit the mode between the normal reproduction mode and the fast forward and fast reversing reproduction mode by preparing in advance data exclusively used for fast forwarding and fast reversing reproduction to each digital moving picture file. CONSTITUTION:When a mode revision request is caused on the way of a 2nd cycle in the normal reproduction mode executed in a 1st cycle, a frame number to be displayed is detected, and data of one group starting from a frame corresponding to the frame number of fast forward reproduction exclusive data are read. A mode revision request 12 indicates a case that a normal reproduction request is caused on the way of the cycle of fast forward reproduction, a displayed frame number is detected and data of one group starting from a frame corresponding to the frame number of normal reproduction exclusive data are read. Since reading of one group is required for normal reproduction, the mode transit time is required to start the usual reproduction. A terminal equipment continues video image in the preceding reproduction mode or awaits the still state for the transit time. Thus, the mode transit between the normal reproduction mode and the fast forward and reverse reproduction mode is immediately executed.
