A facing on a wall or ceiling comprises a plurality of mutually parallel strips 3 supported in spaced relationship from the wall or ceiling by supporting members, the strips having flat central portions and arcuately curled edges, the strips being secured to the supporting members by suspension means which grip the curled edges of the strips from the inside. As shown, in a ceiling construction, the aluminium or plastic strips 3 support sound-absorbing panels 1 and are held by T-sectioned support members 5 having formations serving as the suspension means which grip the insides of the strips. The support members 5 are held in holders 7 secured to adjustable hangers and are provided with spring clips 8 to retain the panels 1. In an embodiment, the strips 3 and the panels 1 are held to the hangers by spring members secured to the hangers and gripping the strips from the insides. The panels 1 comprise glass or mineral fibres covered with plastic film 2 and the strips and members 5 may be interfitted and joined end to end. |
