[Also in Divisions B8 and D1- D2], Tubular containers (see Division B8) are made by overlapping longitudinal edges of a sheet or sheets of paper and adhering the edges with a heat resistant resin, i.e. nylons, polyesters, polyacrylonitriles or mixtures thereof (see Division C3). The shorter pair of edges of a rectangular sheet of paper are overlapped and adhered by rolling and the sleeve so formed dried at 130, 120 or 200 degrees centigrade for 30 seconds to evaporate adhesive solvent. Seaming may also be performed by placing a nylon thread along the centre of the overlapped edges, heating for 50 seconds at 70 degrees and pressing with a metal plate at 170 degrees for 10 seconds. |
