PURPOSE:To stably protect a biologically active substance in the rumen of a ruminant. CONSTITUTION:This feed additive is obtained by coating a core containing a biologically active substance with a coating composition containing at least the following substances (a) and (b): (a) at least one substance selected from the group consisting of 12-22C straight-chain or branched saturated or unsaturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acids or their salts, hardened vegetable fats and oils, hardened animal fats and oils and waxes and (b) substances mentioned in the following (A) and/or (B):(A) one or two or more substances selected from <=11C straight-chain or branched saturated or unsaturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acids and (B) one or two or more substances selected from nucleic acid, nucleotides, nucleosides, bases constituting the nucleic acid and salts thereof. |
