Manure is removed from a cow shed &c. by an endless scraper chain conveyer moving within a gutter into which the manure is deposited. The scraper conveyer comprises a plurality of scraper blades A centrally located on an endless chain B which passes around appropriate driven and return rollers C for passage along one or more gutters, Fig. III (not shown). The chain runs in a channel, Fig. II (not shown), in the base of the gutter. The discharge end of the conveyer may be elevated to deliver the manure to a heap or vehicle and may be pivotal about an inclined axis, Figs. IX, X (not shown), to enable the discharge point to be varied. The return run of the chain engages a cam or guide H, Fig. VI (not shown), to turn the chain for engagement with the return gutter.</p> |
