1,134,717. Haymaking &c. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. 28 Feb., 1966 [2 March, 1965], No. 8747/66. Heading A1F. A hay-tedder comprises a rotary pick-up cylinder 75 extending across the entire width of the machine and feeding crop into a transverse passage through which passes an airstream from a blower 56 whereby the crop is entrained in the airstream and is discharged rearwardly over substantially the entire width the machine. The machine is mounted on three castors 7, 13, 18 one of which is lockable, and is towed by an angularly-adjustable drawbar 24. The pick-up cylinder comprises a single row of flat tines 76 which are retractable into the cylinder 75 as the latter rotates. The crop leaving the cylinder passes over a lip 38 and falls into a channel formed by the lip 38 and a sheetmetal member 42 defining the air-discharge outlet of the fan 56. The crop is swept into a frusto-conical guide 93 for discharge on to the ground. The guide is connected to the machine-frame by links 96, 97 which permit it to be moved into an inoperative position. |
