PURPOSE:To eliminate adverse influence exerted by a metallic case on light emitting efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower outside cases 6 and 7 of a thin illuminating device is formed of metal, and insulating layers 11 and 12 are provided on the inner surfaces of the cases. Therefore, the characteristic of the metallic case that thinning is possible is still kept, while the adverse influence exerted by the metallic case on the light emitting efficiency is prevented by means of the insulating layers 11 and 12, and the high light emitting efficiency is achieved, thereby complying with a requirment such as making the luminance of the illuminating device high and thinning the device. |
