In a single or polyphase regulating transformer comprising a liquid-filled casing enclosing the entire arrangement including a composite tap-changer and one or more high resistances, the resistances 3 are located in a compartment 9 which is at least separated from the compartment 6 containing the transformer 2, the compartment 9 being easily accessible from outside the casing I. The tap-changer comprises a selector switch and throw-over switch in compartment 4 which communicates with compartment 9 and a throw-over power switch in compartment 5 which merges into a larger compartment 7 through which the resistances are accessible by removal of a cover 10. All compartments are filled with transformer oil with the exception of compartments 5 and 7 which contain switch oil. The transformer incorporates both coarse and fine regulation windings. |
