摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device that is miniaturized by simplifying the constitution of the device in the case of using laser beams of different wavelength, and a laser diode chip. SOLUTION: An optical axis-correcting element, which passes the first laser beam as it is as 0th-order light and diffracts the second laser beam different in wavelength from the first laser beam and then generates diffraction light having an optical axis which approximately accords with the optical axis of the first laser beam, is provided in an irradiation optical path which guides the laser beam irradiated from a light-producing means to a recording medium. The optical axis-correcting element is arranged at the position where the center of the optical intensity distribution of the incoming first laser beam accords with the center of the optical intensity distribution of the incoming second laser beam.
