<p>1278474 Racket frame CARLTON SPORTS CO Ltd 30 Jan 1970 [31 Jan 1969] 5454/69 Heading A6D A games racket frame has a head formed from a metal tube having stringing apertures elongated in the length direction of the tube, the apertures being lined with grommets whose wall thickness is greatest in the elongation direction. The frame shown, Fig. 1, has a head 10 of metal tube having stringing apertures 14 each comprising two opposed oval flanged holes. The flanges are turned to the inside of the tube, and may completely surround the holes. Each aperture is lined with a mating oval grommet 15, Fig. 3, having a circular bore for the racket string and an oval external shape, and being made of plastics material, e.g. nylon.
