An improved head and neckwear article comprising a head covering crown, a visor and a rear neckpiece, the improvement comprising heat transfer retaining means for retaining a warming source or coolant, operably adjacent said head or said neck. The head and neckwear article provides the wearer a means of keeping his head and/or neck cooled or warmed in extreme weather conditions. The article further provides the feature of the neckpiece being so folded as to hold an article to be kept cooled by the pocket in the neckpiece.
