[Also in Division G2] A device 10, enclosed in a housing 40, provides a light-tight conveyer system for transporting cartridges 18 from a dark zone 12, where they have been loaded with unexposed film, to a light zone 14 for further processing or delivery. After loading a cartridge 18 is pushed along a member 26 by a cross-bar 28 extending between a pair of endless chains 30, and conveyed across an arcuate recess 60 in a member 48 by two axiallyspaced discs 50 having cut-outs 54 whose edges 58 engage the rear end 22 of the cartridge. The ends 20, 22 of the cartridge then drop into respective recesses 74, 78 in a pair of discs 66 and, assisted by a stationary guide plate 76, are conveyed to discs 82, similar to discs 50, for movement across an arcuate recess 88 in a member 80 to an exit 86. A shaft 34, for chain sprockets 32, and shafts 52, 52a, 70, for the discs, are driven together by gears (46, 53, 56, 72, Fig. 4, not shown). |
