Write currents are applied to a recording head S from a supply U via a potentiometer R5 and the resistors R3, R4 or R1, R2 depending on switches E1, E2 determining whether a "I" or "O" is to be stored. The writing resistors R1 and R2 or R3 and R4 are arranged in the ratio 1: 3 and the potentiometer is three times the total value of each writing resistor. In the centre position of the potentiometer the two currents are equal and displacement of the tapping decreases one current and increases the other. The data is written on tape already saturated in one magnetization direction. |
