A method for bonding porous, cellulosecontaining materials to porous, cellulose-containing materials or non-porous materials comprises pastifying by heating an aqueous suspension of starch and/or peptonized starch, consisting of 35 to 65 parts by weight of starch and/or peptonized starch (calculated as anhydrous starch) and 65 to 35 parts by weight of water if required with addition of pastificationpromoting chemicals, and depositing the paste which is at a temperature of at least 50‹ C. on the materials to be bonded together and joining the latter. Specified pastifying chemicals are calcium chloride and zinc chloride. The suspension may contain protective colloids, e.g. cellulose ethers, water-soluble starch or dextrin, compounds having an elasticating effect, e.g. polyhydric alcohols and further adhesives, e.g. melamine and/or urea resins. Specified cellulosecontaining materials are paper, e.g. to make corrugated paperboard, board, fleeces and textiles. Glass and metal are the specified non- porous materials. |
