A venturi gas scrubber has a cylindrical section 17 containing a liquid spray convergent and divergent sections 19 and 22 and a cylindrical throat section 18 which has the same diameter as an inlet pipe 16 connected to cylindrical section 17. A second liquid spray may be provided in a cylindrical section 23 following divergent section 22 and the gas and liquid discharged therefrom is passed through a grid 26 before passing upwardly through a droplet-eliminator assembly. In a modification the divergent section of a scrubber may be replaced by a cylindrical extension of the throat section. |
