Each dosimeter has two plates of fissile metal of different compositions e.g. Al/U alloy and natural Th, sandwiched between a thin upper plastic foil which is completely pierced by the fission products and relatively thick bottom foils. The thin foil is removed from the dosimeter for reading and placed between a common base electrode and two separate top electrodes each placed over that part of the foil which covered one of the fissile plates. These electrodes are connected via three pole switches to a charged capacitor and to a pulse counter. The capacitor has a third three pole switch for charging and discharging.
