The pressure vessel comprises a rigid casing with openings axially in line at opposite ends. A distorting partition in the casing between the openings has a mouthpiece at one end, with which the larger-diameter portion of an outwards-extending gas union is connected. There is a removable insert between the union and one of the openings, and a multi-segment locking device engages between the insert and the opening. The locking device (36) bears directly on the one side against the underside of the casing wall (11) round the opening (12), and on the other against the lower shoulder end (34) of the insert (31). The locking segments (37) are coupled together by an elastic ring (51) engaging under the casing wall round the opening and of conical cross-section. This ring has a face (53) sloping towards the curved part of the casing near the portion of the partition (14) fixed to the gas union (17). |
