Improved method for soluble aspirin compns. wherein aqueous 1-5% (pref. 1-3%) suspensions of Mg(OH)2 and Ca(OH2) are mixed in the molar ratio 1:5 to 5:1 (pref. 3:1), treated with CO2 to give pH 6.5-9.5, stored 20-30h. at 20 deg., heated 1-4h. at 65-85 deg., giving a mixed magnesium calcium carbonate. Alt., treatment of a Ca (OH)2 suspension alone, with CO2 to pH 4.5-6.5, mixing with an Mg (OH)2 suspension, and treating as above, yields a magnesium calcium hydroxycarbonate, (similar compounds can be obtained by reacting Na2CO3 with CaCl2 and MgCl2). The mixed carbonate is combined into tablets tog. with aspirin (pref. as 2 separate layers), and together with fillers, additives, and other active cpds. |
