The resins are made by the known process of condensing cyclo-aliphatic ketones with aldehydes. After washing the resin soln. with water, a finely-divided matting agent is added, after which the solvent is removed by distillation. Suitable matting agents are metal salts of fatty acids (esp stearates), waxes and silica, or mixtures of these. The resins are esp. suitable for making fast-buffing primers and matt lacquers.
