Washing powders - contg inorganic builder and a precipitation modifier

Washing agents contains an inorganic builder (I) and a precipitation modifier (II). (I) prevents the formation of a visible precipitate for 1 min. and (2) prevents visible precipitates from settling out soln. for 20 mins., when the (II) is present at 0.01 wt.% and under the following conditions: pH = 10, temp. = 51-52 degrees C, initial compsn. of the soln. is 14 grains per 3.78 litres of harness-inducing ions in a ratio 3:1 Ca:Mg, 0.05 wt.% (I) comprising 1:1 wt./wt. NaCO3: silicate (Nasilicate with SiO2:Na2O=2.0) and 0.025 wt.% surface active agent comprising a 1:1 Na dodecyl benzene sulphonate and Na talc trioxysulphonate, and using a wt. ratio (I): (II) of 1000:1 to 1:1. Products have excellent washing action and non-greying properties, and have no harmful ecological effects.
