A container, e.g. a feeding bottle, comprises a lining (2), Fig. 1 (not shown) the top or bottom of which may be formed with a nipple, and a surrounding sleeve (4) of relatively thicker material, e.g. of cardboard. The lining of synthetic plastics, may be formed by vacuum or pressure into the required shape in a mould and subsequently inserted into the sleeve which, if it is of cardboard, is moistened to make it expand and shrink on to the lining on drying. The lower end of the sleeve may be rolled inwards to form a flange, Figs. 4 and 7 (not shown). The upper edge of the lining is flanged over the sleeve and may be closed by means of a disc (16), Fig. 3 (not shown), sealed to the flange, a gripping flap (7) enabling it to be torn off. Alternatively, Fig. 4 (not shown), the container, may be closed by a lensshaped lid (15) of plastics forming a tight joint within the upper end of the lining. The container may have a sealing disc (16) at its upper end, Fig. 5 (not shown), and be opened by placing it over a hollow piercer (14), thereby draining the liquid contents through the base. |
