PURPOSE:To provide an optical pickup device with high availability of a beam outgoing from a laser and easy for manufacturing. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a semiconductor laser element 2 loaded on a semiconductor substrate 1, a reflection mirror 3 making a step surface provided on the semiconductor substrate 1 a reflection surface and opposing to the outgoing end surface of the laser beam of the semiconductor laser element 2 and photodetectors 5, 6, 7 and 8 provided on the semiconductor substrate 1. Then, the outgoing end surface of the semiconductor element 2 is arranged close to the reflection mirror 3, and an epitaxial growth layer side is fixed to the semiconductor substrate 1 so that no reflected beam 10 strikes on the outgoing end surface by intersecting the outgoing optical axis of the semiconductor element 2 with a vertical surface common to the reflection mirror 3 and the semiconductor substrate 1. Then, the semiconductor substrate 1 is arranged inclined to a hologram element so that the reflected beam 10 becomes nearly vertical to the hologram elements 13, 14. |
