PURPOSE:To provide a semiconductor light emitting device which is able to execute a large matrix-vector product operation by a method wherein a light emitting element is enhanced in output uniformity when it is formed long and narrow, and the light emitting elements are integrated high in density. CONSTITUTION:Contact regions a, b, c, and d between an electrode 4 and a first semiconductor region 2 are divided into pieces for the formation of fine linear semiconductor light emitting elements, and the light emitting elements are arranged in parallel with each other in a widthwise direction. An interval between the divided contact regions a to d is so set as to be large at a current feed end side (a to be) and small at an opposite side (c to d). |
