Dust laden gases enter the vertical scrubber near its top end and flow downwards, when they make contact with an atomised water curtain, are deflected by means of a water arresting device in the lower part of the scrubber and flow upwards as clean and dry gases before being discharged. The separation of the dust laden water droplets is achieved in a water arrestin device, constructed of a series of deflection plates or blades imparting to the gas flow such condition as necessary for efficient separation. The gas finally releases the remaining water/dust droplets on the upward flow.
|
