Compsns. contg. 0.1-1.0% 3,20-diketo-9 alpha, 11 beta-dichloro-16 alpha, 17 alpha-dimethyl-21-hydroxypregna-1,4-diene and its 21-esters are powerful topical anti-phlogistics with no. appreciable systemic activity. The esters (other than the acetate) are novel.
