<p>Chromatographic separation column is produced by introducing a suspension of solvent and fine granular material into a column closed at one end by a filter, then compressing the granular material to form a bed. A liquid (the solvent) is introduced through the tube, which is first inserted so far that its outlet is just above the filter, and which is then progressively withdrawn. The method and appts. are intended for producing esp. liquid (also gas) chromatography columns with packing material of 1-40 mu particle size.</p> |
