Rifle grenade fuse - with safety and arming mechanism

The impact fuse of the grenade is a percussion cap fired by relative forward motion of a double, coaxial hammer sub assembly, the outer sleeve of which is fixed axially to the fuse body by shear pins ruptured by the force produced by an auxiliary propellant charge ignited by muzzle flash in the grenade launcher. The inner hammer has a striker pin for the primary contractor cap. A relay imitator is carried in an eccentric hole in a rotating shutter which is spring driven in the second phase of arming to align the relay igniter with the cap. This shutter is anchored by a stop pin releasing when the propellant is fired.
