1322887 Tape cartridge players MOTOROLA Inc 16 Feb 1972 [15 March 1971] 7229/72 Heading G5R A side-loading cartridge player includes a cartridge locking and ejecting mechanism 45, engageable for cartridge ejection by a mechanism 25 which comprises a member 70 movable in the direction of cassette ejection, linked to a member 75 manually movable in a generally perpendicular direction. The member 75, Fig. 5, includes an arm 23 which projects through the player front wall 15, and is linked to the member 70 through a rod 74 and a bell crank 80 pivoted at 81 to the front wall 15 and having a rivet 83 movable in a slot 84 of the member 75, so that when the arm 23 is depressed and the member 75 slides along vertical slots 77, 78 in the front wall 15, the bell crank 80 is pivoted and pulls the attached rod 74 in a substantially horizontal direction, Fig. 4 (not shown). The member 70 thus causes an arm 53 of the locking and ejecting mechanism 45 to pivot at 55, moving overcentre spring 57 to its other stable position (shown), and thereby disengaging a locking roller 61 from a cartridge notch 27a and ejecting the cartridge 27 by means of a slide 47. The head 38 is track-changed by a rotatable cam (not illustrated) when contacts (41), Fig. 2 (not shown) are bridged by a conductive strip on the tape. A cartridge-actuated switch (32) controls the drive (33-36) to a capstan (31). |
