1411539 Light sensitized oxymethylene polymer composition HOECHST AG 14 Sept 1972 [4 Dec 1971] 21688/75 Divided out of 1410641 Addition to 1410641 Heading C3P A composition comprises (a) an oxymethylene polymer, (b) a heat stabilizer, and (c) a light sensitizer which is acenaphthene quinone and/or aceanthrene quinone or a mixture thereof with anthrone and/or naphthoquinone. Oxidation stabilizers may also be present, e.g. bisphenols. The compositions are degradable in ultra-violet light and may thus be useful as bags, sheets or sacks. They may be prepared by homogenizing the components in powder or granular form at 150‹ to 250‹ C. In examples, trioxan-ethylene oxide copolymers are mixed with dicyanodiamide and aceanthrene quinone or acenaphthene quinone or a mixture thereof or a mixture of aceanthrene quinone and anthrone.
