PURPOSE:To improve the stability of an org. basic substance to light without deteriorating the hue and purity by adding a specific matal complex of benzothiazole derivatives to the subsftance having its absorption max. in a spsecific wavelength region of visible radiation and thereabout. CONSTITUTION:A complex of formual I is added to an org. basic substance having its absorption max. in about 300-about 800mmu e.g. coloring matter or dye to enhance the stability to light. In formula I, M is Cu, Co, Ni, Pd or Pt, each of R1, R2,R3 and R4 is H, a halogen atom, -CN, optionally substd. alkyl dirctly bonded to C on each benzene ring or indirectly bonded through a divalent group, such aryl, such cycloalkyl or such heterocyclic group, R1 and R2, R2 or R3 and R4 may be a group of nonmetal atoms required to form a 6-membered ring in combination with each other, and R5 is H or -CH3.
