PURPOSE:To improve crown and shape control functions by using a variable crown roll for one or more rolls, and intersecting the axial line of at least one side of work rolls and backup rolls diagonally with the straight line perpendicular to the pass line in a multiple rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:In the multiple rolling mill consisting of work rolls and backup rolls, a variable crown roll is used for at least one roll, and the axial line of at least one side of work rolls and backup rolls is intersected diagonally with respect to the straight line perpendicular to the pass line. Therefore, skew rolling is applied in addition to the rolling of the variable crown roll, and by combining these with roll benders, the effective crown and shape controlling is accomplished. |
